Below are a few examples of digital stories we have created. We invite you to sit back and watch, then imagine the possibilities!
Visiting Grandma was my first digital story. In it I reminisce about weekend visits to my grandmother's apartment when I was growing up. As a self-declared bookworm, my visits to grandma's were very special to me since she understood and shared my love of reading - really my addiction to books! I miss her still.
Graduation Day tells the story of what it was like being a non-traditional college student. It compares the experience of receiving my bachelor's degree at age 39 and watching my daughter graduate from college at 23. Created in 2008 at a workshop facilitated by the Center for Digital Storytelling, this represents my first attempt at creating a digital story.
Down Home captures my dad's memories of growing up in rural Missouri. After showing the video at a recent gathering of my dad's family, some of whom still live in Missouri, I received the following message from one of my dad's cousins: "What a wonderful gift you have given to all generations of the Ledford clan! I appreciate you sharing your talents and expertise in creating and showcasing the Ledford legacy."
Life Imitating Art
The public education system did its best to extinguish the creativity in my oldest son. Fortunately, he was self-motivated and stubborn enough to keep the spark alive. Life Imitating Art is the story of how he eventually found an educational environment that matched the way he learns best. Imagine the possibilities if we could get learning right the first time, every time, for every child.
Celebrating 50 Years Together
This video was created for especially for Sandy and Hudge to honor and celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
